The edge-of-the-seat riveting thriller stars Anjan Dutt, Swastika Mukherjee (of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! fame), and Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead roles.

Produced by Friends Communication, the chart-busting music of the film is composed by Anupam Roy (of Piku fame).

When asked about the thought process behind the film, writer-director Pratim D. Gupta says, “Shaheb Bibi Golaam revolves around a contract killer, a housewife and a taxi driver whose lives change in one mad moment. Despite it being a pacy thriller, it’s got strong social undercurrents addressing Indian women’s sexual independence. The language might officially be Bengali but it is an extremely visual and visceral experience which should appeal to a pan-India audience.”

Producer Firdausal Hasan of Friends Communication is extremely delighted to release the film on the same date outside Bengal. “We believe that we have made a film which can reach out to audiences everywhere and with Drishyam Films coming on board, we hope to have a strong pan-Indian release,” he says.

Shiladitya Bora, the CEO of Drishyam Films, is upbeat about the film’s theatrical prospects as well. “We are very excited to bring Shaheb Bibi Golaam to audiences across India, as it is a bold and original thriller that can find its place of pride alongside any Bollywood blockbuster film.”
