Deva Shree Ganesha (Agneepath – 2012)

The lyrics, packed with devotion, have been written by noted lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya An amazing composition by Ajay-Atul, with the song being sung by Ajay himself. Shree Ganesh Dhimahi (Viruddh – 2005)
Composed by Ajay-Atul and performed by Shankar Mahadevan this song will give you goosebumps. It is a deeply moving and meaningful number, that gives you hope and faith. Featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore, this Ganesh aarti is played in its pristine form in the movie.
Jalwa (Wanted – 2009)
Composed by Sajid-Wajid, ‘Jalwa’ became an instant hit. With powerful vocals by Wajid and Salman Khan’s infectious energy, this song can compel anybody to dance. Wanted was a turning point in Salman Khan’s career and also the directorial debut of ace choreographer Prabhu Deva.
Gajanana (Bajirao Mastani – 2015)
Coming from a movie like Bajirao Mastani, ‘Gajanana’ is grand, both in terms of visuals and sound. Soulfully sung by Sukhwinder Singh with music composed by none other than the director of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. Chants which have been incorporated in the form of a chorus are intense and melodious and will stay with you even after the song is over. A foot tapping song from a movie which is all about dance. Music composers Sachin-Jigar and singer Hard Kaur have managed to brilliantly blend traditional and modern music together. Aptly supporting the thumping music are Mayur Puri’s lyrics that weave in devotion with beauty. Featuring many seasoned dancers like Salman Yusuf Khan and Lauren Gotlieb this song is a treat to watch and dance to during this festive occasion.
Deva O Deva (Hum Se Badhkar Kaun – 1981)
One of the most iconic Ganesh songs is actually from the 80s, from the film Hum Se Badhkar Kaun. Composed by Raam Laxman and Bappi Lahiri and sung by Mohd. Rafi, Asha Bhosle and Shailendra Singh, this song uses several traditional musical instruments, which give it a unique feel. Frequently played in pandals during the 10 days festival, Deva O Deva continues to retain its charm even today.
Ganpati Bappa Agle Baras Tu (Aasoo Bane Angaarey – 1993)
Sung by the one and only Lata Mangeshkar and composed by Rajesh Roshan, ‘Ganpati Bappa Agle Baras Tu’ is an energetic number but replete with emotion. It is timed around the procession of the beloved lord as he is taken for visarjan. This is one of those rare cases where an actress is leading a Ganesh or Govinda song. Madhuri Dixit nails this opportunity as she dances her heart out.
Bappa (Banjo – 2016)
The latest entrant to the list of popular Ganesh Chaturthi tracks is ‘Bappa’ from Banjo. A foot thumping number in the high-octane voice of Vishal Dadlani, composed by Shekhar and Dadlani himself, ‘Bappa’ has a rockstar feel to it. Featuring Riteish Deshmukh, this is a vibrant and powerful number, which uses a variety of instruments from the banjo to percussions. No wonder that it has become the Ganpati anthem of the year!
