In her latest release Akira, Sonakshi Sinha has done some high-octane action scenes. She trained in kickboxing, gymnastics, Mixed Martial Arts and cable work to perfect her stunts. Sinha will also be seen performing grueling stunts in her upcoming movie Force 2 where she plays a special agent.


Deepika Padukone

The gorgeous Deepika Padukone took us by storm when she performed power-packed action sequences in Bajirao Mastani. For the role, Padukone was trained in Kalaripayattu by Daksha Sheth. The actress wore almost 30 kgs of armour and also shot a war scene in her heavy costumes. Previously, Deepika has also done her own stunts in the action – comedy Chandni Chowk to China.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

We saw Aishwarya Rai Bachchan maneuvering the sword like a professional in Jodha Akbar. The actress underwent extensive training to learn sword-fighting and horse riding for her role. Aishwarya, who has previously performed stunts in Dhoom 2, recently also did some gritty stunts in her comeback movie Jazbaa.

Katrina Kaif proved that she’s more than just a pretty face when she did the jet ski stunts in Bang Bang and loaded action sequences in Phantom. Not just that, the actress has also done her own stunts in Dhoom 3 and Ek Tha Tiger. Katrina has always harbored a fascination for guns  and registered for shooting classes in order to ace her role in Phantom. She is now getting ready to perform hardcore action in her upcoming film Tiger Zinda Hai.


Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is one of the frontrunners when it comes to performing her own stunts. She played a boxer in the Mary Kom biopic for which she did not use any body double or stunt woman. Chopra had to undergo 45 days of strength training to perform the part.  The actress has performed stunts in Don 2 as well as her recent American TV show Quantico

Pink actress Taapsee Pannu brilliantly performed her fighting scene in Baby where she plays an undercover agent. The actress will now be seen doing intense action sequences in her upcoming movie Meera which is a prequel to Baby. The actress claimed that the action training during Baby took a toll on her and her leg-joint injury re-surfaced, but with the guidance of her trainer and Akshay Kumar himself, she was able to pull off a realistic scene in the movie.

Jacqueline Fernandez performed her own fencing scene in Race 2. And we all remember those scenes, don’t we? Two experts from Vietnam were called to teach Jacqueline fencing. The action director Peter Heins asked her to practice as much as possible to master the art along with style and grace. Recently the actress also did some stunts in the international film Definition of Fear. Initially a body double was to perform the scenes, but the actress decided to do it herself.
