Vidya to feature in another biopic
The very talented Vidya Balan will reportedly essay the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her next film. This would be the second biopic in her career after ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011).
“I can’t reveal much as I’m bound by contract. All I can say is that I’m doing one,” she was quoted saying.
“When the time is right, they (the makers) will make the necessary announcement,” Vidya added.
In her first biopic, the actress portrayed the role of ‘80s seductress Silk Smitha in ‘The Dirty Picture’. The film set the cash registers ringing and also earned her numerous acclaim and awards. Balan also won the prestigious National Film Award for her tribute to ‘Silk’.
Apart from the biopic, the talks of her featuring in the sequel to the 2012 hit ‘Kahaani’ are also doing rounds. “Sujoy (Ghosh, filmmaker) is currently in London. Once he returns, we will iron out the details and begin work on it,” she was quoted saying.
She is also paired opposite actor-director Farhan Akhtar in the sequel to ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’, titled ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ which is likely to release later this year.
